FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCRS Announces SPRIA and Site Tank Winners: Clinical Trials of Texas and AES Synexus – Warsaw, Poland

Hanover, MD October 13, 2020 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced at their virtual 2020 Global Site Solutions Summit that Clinical Trials of Texas and AES Synexus – Warsaw, Poland are the winners of the Site Patient Recruitment Innovation Award (SPRIA) and the Site Tank Award.

Sponsored by StudyKIK, SPRIA recognizes a research site that has developed and implemented an innovative patient recruitment program.  Three finalists were chosen by an independent judging panel. After the finalists presented their plans at the Global Site Solutions Summit, the winner was chosen by a panel of judges. When assessing the plans, judges looked for innovative patient-directed initiatives that were unique, effective and took the campaign response into account.

Cindi Nellis, representing Clinical Trials of Texas, won SPRIA for the site’s pivot to a “COVID warrior” outreach resulting in the creation of more than 200 pieces of content to address the needs of COVID-19  by utilizing the expertise of the organization. This outreach enabled the site to meet and exceed their enrollment goal as well as increasing racial and ethnic minority representation among their patients.

Sponsored by TrialScout, Site Tank recognizes a research site that has developed an innovative technology solution for clinical research. Following the finalists’ presentations at the Global Site Solutions Summit, the winner was chosen by a panel of judges. When assessing each presentation, judges looked for technology concepts designed to enhance, empower and improve the clinical research industry.

Lukasz Wiech, representing AES Synexus – Warsaw, Poland, won Site Tank with their Virtual Screening Team (VST) tool allowing their site to rapidly pre-screen patients live and in real time, for their worldwide trials. This newly implemented pre-screening of patients was rolled out to sites in less than one week in response to the pandemic.

“Participation in SPRIA and Site Tank is an opportunity for site excellence in patient recruitment and technological innovation to be recognized by leaders in the clinical research industry, who have come together at the Summit to make impactful change,” said SCRS director of innovation and engagement, Jimmy Bechtel. “We found all SPRIA and Site Tank submissions inspiring, and are thrilled with the direction the global site community is headed. Congratulations to Clinical Trials of Texas and AES Synexus – Warsaw, Poland.”
