FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCRS Names Recipient of the 2020 Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award

Hanover, MD October 14, 2020 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced that Kay Scroggins, President and CEO of Clinical Trials of Texas, has been awarded the 2020 Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award at the virtual SCRS Global Site Solutions Summit.

SCRS founder, Christine Pierre, was an industry leader in the site arena who dedicated almost three decades of her life to advancing the work and voice of clinical research sites. With this passion and vision, she conceptualized the first Site Solutions Summit in 2005 and founded SCRS in 2012. In early 2017, Christine was diagnosed with ocular melanoma. She entered a number of clinical trials which afforded her more time with loved ones until her passing on October 23, 2018.

In honor of her work and life, SCRS conceptualized the Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award to recognize an industry leader who has made an extraordinary contribution to furthering the voice of the clinical research site community. Kay Scroggins was selected as the recipient of the 2020 award. Ms. Scroggins has served the site community in several positions with SCRS and was the chair of the SCRS Global Site Solutions Summit this year as it went through a rapid transformation into a virtual event.

“Kay Scroggins has been a long-standing SCRS member and has made important contributions to several SCRS committees that advance change and improvement in the clinical research site community,” said SCRS COO, Allyson Small. “Kay’s dedication to SCRS is evident in the success of the 2020 virtual SCRS Global Site Solutions Summit. Congratulations to Kay for being the well-deserving recipient of the Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award.”###
