November 2022

From the SCRS Team

As we approach the end of 2022,  we are filled with appreciation for all that we have accomplished together. At the beginning of this year, SCRS made the difficult decision to move the Global Oncology Summit to May due to surging COVID-19 cases at that time. With those additional months to plan, we also added a Diversity Summit, where 400 of you came together to discuss needs and strategies for increasing diverse representation in research and within our organizations. We reconnected with our European and Australia-New Zealand communities for the first time in person since 2019. We saw record attendance at the Global Site Solutions Summit, where we celebrated a decade of SCRS and advancing site success. We announced the much-anticipated launch of the new SCRS West Summit, an idea in the making since late 2019.

This year, we’ve launched new initiatives, such as the Workforce Task Force, and finalized resources for sites including a Site Invoiceables guide and Best Practices and Recommendations for Site Participation on Decentralized Trials as part of the Digital Innovation Initiative. Sites have joined the Global Impact Partner program. Incredible feedback was shared in 10 Site Advocacy Groups. And, we have much more in the works.

All of us at SCRS thank you for your continued commitment and dedication to unifying site voices for greater site sustainability. Celebrating 10 years of advancing site success would not be possible without you! We look forward to seeing you at our 2023 Summits and continuing solution-focused dialogue for the future of clinical research.

SCRS Membership Update

Celebrating Your Accomplishments

Has your organization developed a case study, white paper, survey, or blog that you’d like to share with the SCRS community? Or, did you recently participate in a webinar or SCRS Summit session you’d like to recap? Maybe you have a burning question you want to pose to industry partners or other sites? SCRS publications are a wonderful avenue to feature your site’s thought leadership or achievements and make your voice heard.

I have seen some incredible discussions and projects shared by the SCRS community recently, and we would love to feature them. As an SCRS member, you are welcome to contribute to a publication at any time. Contact SCRS Communications Manager, Marissa Hill, to learn more about contributing to an InFocus newsletter, InSite journal, or the SCRS Talks podcast.

Regional Meetings Update

The next steps in the planning process of SCRS Regional Meetings will take place shortly after the new year. If you are interested in participating in a regional meeting or assisting in the planning and growth of this SCRS Charter, and have not already done so, we ask that you please fill out the online form here.

These regional meetings will be a collaborative enhancement to SCRS with the purpose of sharing operational procedures and educational topics, while also giving attendees the ability to network personally and professionally.

You can be part of your close-knit clinical research community and help create solutions for local site challenges. You may choose to express your interest in attending these meetings or make the commitment to volunteer and be an integral participant in uniting regional clinical research sites. Some volunteers will serve as chairs to their regions and assist in choosing meeting locations, educational content, and planning social networking events. Others may want to be part of the committee that assists regions in the planning process. We welcome all levels of participation and encourage you to learn more about this SCRS Membership Committee initiative and fill out the Regional Meetings interest form here.
