SCRS Announces Launch of Excellence in Patient Centricity Award
Hanover, MD, August 23, 2021 – Today the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Excellence in Patient Centricity award, which will recognize a clinical research site with demonstrated commitment to patient centricity. Nominations for the award, which is sponsored by Sanofi, are open to any active research site that enrolls patients into clinical trials.
The Excellence in Patient Centricity award was created to celebrate a clinical research site that has proven its commitment to effective patient engagement by understanding clinical research from the patient’s perspective. Through the consideration of patient insights, the recipient of this award works tirelessly to produce healthcare solutions that are committed to enhanced patient experiences as well as an improved health-related quality of life. This high standard is achieved by ensuring the representation of inclusive and diverse populations in clinical trials while focusing on the continued development of patient-centric strategies.
Nominees will be asked to showcase how their organization has established consistent patient-centric practices through the following criteria:
- deep insight and understanding into the meaning of patient centricity through the articulated definition of what it means to be patient-centric in clinical trials
- has a clear and defined organizational commitment to patient centricity, founded in objectives, processes, and practices
- has demonstrated a commitment to patient-centricity that promotes the diversity and inclusion of patients into clinical trials with tangible results
- can demonstrate continued development of patient-centric strategy, always aspiring to be their very best
- can demonstrate how these practices and strategies differentiate them from other sites
- can illustrate the metrics, data, and outcomes associated with this strategy and how those lead to enhanced centricity, inclusion and diversity and improved patient experiences in clinical trials
- has shown innovation in how they approach patient centricity, through out-of-the-box thinking that has expanded and/or accelerated participation in clinical trials as part of the patient healthcare journey
“By creating the Excellence in Patient Centricity award, SCRS is excited to celebrate a clinical research site that has proven its commitment to positive patient experiences,” commented Allyson Small, SCRS Chief Operating Officer. “Listening to patient insights and translating them into actions that will develop new healthcare solutions with meaningful outcomes is a critical industry-wide initiative. This award will help elevate the importance of effective patient engagement and honoring the patient perspective throughout every aspect of clinical research.”
The winning organization will be announced at the 2021 Global Site Solutions Summit. To learn more about the award and submit a site for consideration, visit https://sitesolutionssummit.com/excellence-in-patient-centricity-award/.
