Genentech, A Member of the Roche Group Becomes Funding Partner of SCRS Diversity Program
Hanover, MD, March 15, 2021 – Today the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced that Genentech, A Member of the Roche Group has made a commitment to become a funding partner of the SCRS Diversity Program, Site Awareness and Best Practices for Inclusion of Diverse Populations in Research. The program is aimed at developing a better understanding of the knowledge, expertise and best practices required for clinical research sites to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population, and to provide knowledge and solutions to aid sites in more successfully including diverse populations in clinical research.
Diana Foster, Ph.D., Diversity Lead for SCRS, commented, “Roche has been an important contributor to SCRS and the diversity and inclusion program for several years. Their commitment to this program has helped support on-going research to help understand how to support research sites across the globe.”
“Clinical trials offer people with serious and life-threatening diseases a chance to receive investigational medicines that have the potential to improve outcomes. At Genentech, A Member of the Roche Group, we are committed to partnering with SCRS and investigator sites to address barriers to clinical trial participation and advance inclusive research,” stated Virginia Nido, Global Head, Industry Collaborations and SSF Site Head.
