FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCRS Releases White Paper Regarding Recruitment Agency Services

Ellicott City, MD, March 16, 2017 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) released a new white paper titled Meeting Clinical Trial Site Needs with Patient Recruitment Agency Services. The paper is based on a survey of clinical research sites in the USA and five European countries about patient recruitment and their experience with patient recruitment agencies.

“Patient recruitment remains a major challenge to the success of clinical trials,” said Christine Pierre, president of SCRS. “The problem is complex, and successful solutions will take site processes into account. This paper sheds light on how patient recruitment agencies can successfully work with sites to increase patient recruitment.”

Recruitment that takes longer than expected increases the costs of products and prevents new products from being brought to market. Too many studies are canceled because recruitment is never completed. Despite difficulties in recruitment, most patients state that they are willing to participate in clinical trials. Innovation in how patients and trials are brought together is urgently needed. This white paper provides new insights into factors holding back innovation and how they can be overcome.

A complimentary copy of the white paper is available at http://www.myscrs.org/white-papers.
