Helping Research Sites Navigate Emerging Trial Technologies
The SCRS Digital Innovation Initiative (DII) empowers clinical research sites by addressing the demand for education and training on decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) and other emerging clinical technologies.
Through collaboration with industry partners, the initiative shares best practices, tools, and insights that help sites reduce operational burden, improve technology implementation, and remain active participants in the digital evolution of clinical research.
Closing the Technology Gap: Why DII Exists
Sites are being asked to adopt new technology faster than most operating budgets or staffing models can absorb it. Integration issues, training gaps, financial strain, and “bring-your-own-tech” risk all slow adoption and create friction between sites and their sponsor and CRO partners.
When DII launched in 2019, roughly 90% of respondents to SCRS surveys indicated a need for additional training and knowledge around decentralized clinical trials. DII was built to close that demonstrated gap through collaboration with industry partners, sharing best practices, tools, and insights that help sites reduce operational burden, improve technology implementation, and remain active participants in the digital evolution of clinical research.
