SCRS Unveils Evolution of Diversity-Focused Program & Summit

January 11, 2024

January 11, 2024 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) is proud to introduce the evolution of its growing Diversity Site Solutions Summit and Diversity Awareness Program. In response to the increasing imperative for inclusive clinical trials, the Diversity Summit will now be rebranded as the “IncluDE Site Solutions Summit” and the Diversity Awareness Program will be known as the “IncluDE Program”.

The updated names signify a pivotal moment for SCRS and industry partners working to enable more diverse, equitable and inclusive clinical trials. Both programs will continue to champion diverse clinical trial participation by sharing proprietary research, resources and guidance to ensure clinical research reflects the rich tapestry of the global population.

“SCRS feels that ‘IncluDE’ better reflects the objectives of these critical programs, which is assuring clinical research is inclusive and equitable for all communities that want to participate,” said Jackie Kent, Vice President of Diversity & Special Projects at SCRS. “Diversity often focuses on race and ethnicity, while inclusivity spans gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, persons with disabilities, socioeconomic status and more. As the industry works towards more accessible clinical trials, we must prioritize making all communities feel that they are truly welcome and able to participate in life-changing research.”

With a heightened focus on inclusive practices, the programs will continue to serve as a premier platform for industry stakeholders to collaboratively advance initiatives that empower underrepresented populations to access clinical trials and healthcare. The third annual IncluDE Site Solutions Summit will be held at the Loews Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia from April 8-9, 2024.
