FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ellicott City, M.D., October 14, 2015 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the global trade organization fully dedicated to representing the interests and voice of clinical research sites, announces that Sheridan Clinical Research is the winner of its popular “Site Tank” award, which was presented at SCRS’s 2015 Global Site Solutions Summit on October 11, 2015.
The Site Tank award allowed sites to share at the Global Site Solutions Summit innovative technology concepts designed to enhance, empower and improve their sites. Medidata Solutions sponsored Site Tank and will consider conceptualizing a proof of concept of Sheridan Clinical Research’s winning idea.
“It is an honor to be the inaugural winner of “Site Tank” at the 2015 SCRS Summit. It was a thrilling opportunity to present an idea to the best and brightest IT industry technology leaders and my peers,” said Deena Bernstein of Sheridan Clinical Research. “I look forward to seeing this idea come to fruition providing transparency of Sponsor/CRO grant systems, site CTMS, and EDC. The sites need a fully automated way to reconcile and receive payments. In the spirit of collaboration amongst the stakeholders this solution will be a phenomenal advancement.”
“The Site Tank was an idea conceptualized by me and Glen when discussing ways to provide technology solutions sites want and need, but that the developers are often unaware of,” stated Christine Pierre, President of SCRS. “Site Tank provides a unique format to ensure the site’s voice is being heard, a mission of SCRS. SCRS is appreciative of Medidata for their support of the event and their commitment to harmonize the technology processes sites must interface with when conducting clinical trials. Congratulations to Sheridan Clinical Research as the Site Tank winner.”
Sheridan Clinical Research was among more than a dozen ideas submitted. In addition to Sheridan Clinical Research, this year’s finalists were Oklahoma Heart Hospital Research Foundation and Reading Hospital. The ideas were reviewed by an independent judging panel, which chose three finalists to present their ideas at the Global Summit. There, the judges queried the finalists about their ideas before a live audience, which voted on the winner. The judges were Jae Chang, Founder and President, GoBalto; Jeff Kasher, President of Patients Can’t Wait; Jackie Kent, Senior Director of Clinical Development Information and Optimization & NGD Trial Execution at Lilly; and Hugo Stephenson, Executive Chairman, DrugDev. Glen de Vries, President of Medidata Solutions, acted as the event’s moderator.
The 2016 Site Solutions Summit will be held October 13-16, 2016 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Florida and will again host the Site Tank event.
