Society for Clinical Research Sites Applauds SPRIA Winner – Mzansi Ethical Research Centre
Ellicott City, MD, October 14, 2015 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the global trade organization fully dedicated to representing the interests of clinical research sites, announced at its annual Global Site Solutions Summit that Mzansi Ethical Research Centre is the winner of the second annual Site Patient Recruitment Innovation Award (SPRIA), which recognizes sites that employ innovative strategies to achieve enrollment success.
“It was very humbling to be recognized by our peers as the winner of this year’s SPRIA. The award is recognition of our entire team’s effort,” said Dr. Mohammed Siddique Tayob. “What we presented were ideas we have learned from industry. SCRS is a platform that will continue to drive the industry forward. Sites around the world need to become involved with SCRS or they will become irrelevant. We are inspired and are taking so much home with us from the 2015 Global Site Solutions Summit.”
SCRS launched the SPRIA at its 2014 Site Solutions Summit to recognize sites that implemented innovative recruitment plans. This year, four finalists were chosen by an independent judging panel from among more 20 submissions from sites around the globe.
The winner was chosen by a panel of judges who, in assessing the plans, looked for innovative patient-directed initiatives that were unique, effective and took into account the response of the campaign. The judges were Todd Albin, Senior Director, Site Enrollment Optimization, Acurian; Gretchen Goller, Senior Director, PRA Health Sciences; Len Jokubaitis, MD, Clinical Operations Head, Medical Affairs-Americas Region, Janssen Research & Development, LLC; and Steve Swanson, President and CEO, DAC Patient Recruitment Services.
“The SPRIA is designed to recognize the sites that demonstrates an effective and innovative recruitment plan. Each of the finalists is to be congratulated on their site’s achievement,” states Christine Pierre, President of SCRS. “SCRS is committed to site sustainability and through sharing such innovative and best practices we are confident that all will benefit. SCRS sincerely congratulates Mzansi Ethical Research Centre, the 2015 SPRIA winner and thanks Acurian for their support of this award ceremony.”
In addition to Mzansi Ethical Research Centre, the 2015 SPRIA finalists were Compass Research, Research Institute of Deaconess Clinic, and Sunrise Medical Research. The finalists presented their innovative recruitment plans to an audience of sites, sponsors, and CROs who attended the Global Summit, which was held October 8-11, 2015 in Amelia Island, Florida.
The 2016 Site Solutions Summit will be held October 13-16, 2016 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Florida.
