FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ellicott City, MD, October 12, 2017 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced to more than 900 attendees at its 2017 Global Site Solutions Summit that Instituto de Investigaciones Clinicas and LMC | Manna Research, Inc. are the respective winners of the Site Tank Award and Site Patient Recruitment Innovation Achievement (SPRIA) Award.
The Site Tank award recognizes a research site that has developed an innovative technology solution for clinical research. Following presentations by the finalists at the Global Site Solutions Summit, the award was voted upon by attendees as the most innovative idea. The Site Tank award allows sites to share innovative technology concepts designed to enhance, empower and improve their clinical research for all stakeholders.
Georgina Sposetti, MD, representing Instituto de Investigaciones Clinicas, won the Site Tank competition with “Un Ensayo para Mí,” a website where patients in Argentina can search for clinical trial opportunities.
The SPRIA award recognizes a research site that has developed and implemented an innovative patient recruitment program. This year, three finalists were chosen by an independent judging panel. After the finalists presented their plans at the Global Site Solutions Summit, the winner was chosen by a panel of judges. In assessing the plans, judges look for innovative patient-directed initiatives that were unique, effective and take into account the campaign response.
Nazneen Qureshi, representing LMC | Manna Research, Inc., won SPRIA with a Type 1 diabetes trial that was their first entry into pediatric trials. The team utilized a combination of internet and activity engagement providing educational opportunities in partnership with patient organizations to reach diabetic teens and their parents.
“Participation in SPRIA and Site Tank is an opportunity for site excellence to be shared on the stage,” said Christine Pierre, president of SCRS. “We thank all of the entrants for being willing to share with their peers and congratulate the winners Instituto de Investigaciones Clinicas and LMC | Manna Research, Inc.”
