Rockville, MD
SCRS committed to ensuring its members are well informed.
Rockville, MD – February 26, 2013 The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced today to its growing membership of nearly 300 member companies in 11 different countries that the hour-long monthly webinars will be included as a member benefit. The two monthly webinars series focus on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Business Practice (GBP).
Christine Pierre, President of SCRS, commented, “Our monthly webinars have been an incredible value to registered attendees; however, when the idea to include including this nearly $2,000 annual value was brought to the Leadership Council, a unanimous decision was made to include the webinar series as a member benefit. SCRS is a partner in the research ecosystem, and is committed to doing our part to address the issues that hinder the progress in our industry. Knowledge is the first essential building block needed for our members to ensure human subject protection and gain the elements needed to run a successful research site. We are thrilled to be offering to our global community the opportunity to participate in these leading edge programs as part of their basic membership. Our member company’s involvement extends to all their employees, making our reach impactful.”
SCRS has already realized the benefit of this decision by the Leadership Council and is excited to see nearly 2000 attendees participate in the first webinar offered through the new direction of this program. The first webinar of the series was presented by Doug Peddicord, Ph. D. Executive Director of ACRO and Ann Waldo, JD, CIPP, Partner, Wittie, Letsche & Waldo on the newly released final rule of HIPAA and was entitled “The HIPAA “Omnibus” Rule – What’s In Store For Sites.”
