SCRS and VirTrial Release White Paper on The Impact of Decentralized Trials

June 24, 2020
Contact: SCRS Communications Society for Clinical Research Sites 410.696.5080 communications@myscrs.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SCRS and VirTrial Release White Paper on The Impact of Decentralized Trials. Hanover, MD, June 24, 2020 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) has announced the release of a new white paper produced in collaboration with VirTrial: “Impact Assessment of Decentralized Clinical Trial (CDT) – Awareness in the Clinical Research Industry”. The white paper expands on previous data collected through an industry survey, further highlighting valuable insights into the impact of decentralized trials on the industry and providing direction how to achieve implementation success. “Hybrid trials have long been seen as bringing the next level of service and convenience to patients and expanding the diversity of patients that can participate in clinical trials,” said SCRS chief operating officer, Allyson Small. “Starting at the current COVID-19 crisis and also looking into the future needs of patients, sites and industry, hybrid trials bring a stability to study continuity that ultimately serves the patient.” “VirTrial values its partnership with SCRS and is proud to co-author this important paper on the state of preparedness of sites to conduct decentralized clinical trials,” said Amanda Rangel, senior vice president of business development at VirTrial. “The current health crisis has vastly increased the need for virtual trial options and it’s important that the voices and experiences of clinical research professionals across the country are considered as the industry evolves to meet the need.” Download a complimentary copy of the white paper: myscrs.org/learningcampus/white-papers. ### About SCRS Founded in 2012, SCRS is a global organization that unifies the voice of the clinical research site community to create greater site sustainability.
