FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kay Scroggins Joins SCRS Leadership Council
Hanover, MD, December 7, 2020 – Today, the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced that Kay Scroggins, RN, President and CEO, Clinical Trials of Texas has joined the organization’s Leadership Council. In this role, Kay will join other members of the Leadership Council, which includes sites, sponsors, CROs and professional solution providers, to help guide SCRS’s strategy to carry out its mission of unifying the voice of the global clinical research site community for greater site sustainability.
Kay began her career as a registered nurse (RN) and after many years of working in various roles within a hospital setting and conducting nursing research, she began her first position as a clinical research coordinator. In 2001 Kay’s life as a business owner and entrepreneur began when she founded Clinical Trials of Texas, Inc. (CTT).
CTT has grown to be one of the largest stand-alone research sites in the U.S. conducting over 100 trials/year. They are recognized for their high quality, meeting enrollment goals and breadth of capabilities- Phase 1-4 in multiple therapeutic areas. Their paradigm at CTT is partnering with sponsors/CROs to bring new treatments to their community and our world as efficiently as possible. Kay feels honored to be in an industry that works to improve lives.
“I am very honored to be invited to be part of the SCRS Leadership Council,” Said Scroggins. “SCRS provides insightful and well thought through guidance to clinical research sites in our global industry and works always to bring sites, sponsors, CROs and others together for the benefit of us all. This has been especially true during this pandemic.”
“Kay has provided thoughtful guidance for SCRS’ strategy and development related to our summits as the 2020 Global Site Solutions Summit Chair, as well as other committees throughout her career” shared SCRS COO Allyson Small. “Kay’s years of experience working directly with the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory leaders will be a valuable asset to SCRS’ mission of site sustainability and bringing a voice to the site community.”
