Hanover, MD, December 21, 2020 – Today the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced that Bristol Myers Squibb has made a commitment to become a funding partner of the SCRS diversity program, Site Awareness and Best Practices for Inclusion of Diverse Populations in Research. The program is aimed at developing a better understanding of the knowledge, expertise and best practices required for clinical research sites to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population, and to provide knowledge and solutions to aid sites in more successfully including diverse populations in clinical research.
“Research sites are the forefront of clinical trial research and are critical partners in our efforts to deliver life-changing medicines to patients,” said Kathryn Owen, head of Global Development Operations at Bristol Myers Squibb. “Bristol Myers Squibb is pleased to support SCRS’ diversity program, which provides clinical trial sites with important resources to aid their efforts to include more diverse populations in clinical research.”
Dr. Diana Foster, lead for the SCRS diversity program, commented, “Bristol Myers Squibb has been an ongoing partner and avid supporter of programs within the SCRS platform.
