FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2020 Nominations Open for Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award
Hanover, MD July 14, 2020 – SCRS announced today that they are now accepting nominations for the second annual Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award. This award was created in honor of SCRS founder Christine K. Pierre, whose legacy is her life’s work zealously advocating on behalf of the global clinical research site community. This award will recognize an industry leader who has made an extraordinary impact within the clinical research site community.
Nominees must be an active SCRS member who has made significant contributions towards achievement of SCRS’s mission to attain site sustainability. Individuals eligible for nomination are those who manifest the pillars of SCRS by educating, mentoring, connecting, and advocating for clinical researchers.
“The Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award was created to recognize individuals who set the standard for innovation and excellence in the clinical research community,” stated Allyson Small, Chief Operating Officer of SCRS. “The award is true to its namesake in that it is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of SCRS founder Christine K. Pierre and those who strive to perpetuate her legacy. This was a year where clinical research stakeholders had to mobilize en masse to navigate a global pandemic, and we greatly look forward to recognizing those who rose to the occasion.”
The application features an essay component that should detail how the nominee has impacted the site landscape. Nominations can be submitted through the Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award page until September 4th, 2020. The SCRS Leadership team and Leadership Council will review submissions and select the winner. The winner will be announced at the 2020 Global Site Solutions Summit, held virtually this year in October.
“It was truly an honor to be the inaugural winner of the Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award,” said David Vulcano, Vice President of Clinical Research Compliance and Integrity at HCA Healthcare. “I was surprised and speechless when they made that announcement given the meaning of the award and the gravitas of the namesake. It was always a privilege to serve with Christine and all of our mutual colleagues in advancing the work and sustainability of clinical research sites. Being recognized in such a manner by my peers, the SCRS organization and Christine’s family will be a standing treasure for me and my family.”
