FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hanover, MD, January 26, 2022 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites has announced the launch of its Diversity Site Solutions Summit, which aims to increase knowledge and best practices of clinical research sites to recruit, engage and retain diverse patient populations. The inaugural Diversity Site Solutions Summit, the first clinical research site-focused diversity conference for the industry, will be held May 20, 2022 at Hilton Austin in Austin, Texas.
SCRS is uniquely positioned to host a diversity-focused summit as part of its Diversity Awareness Program, which launched in 2016. The work of this group has gained industry, government, regulatory, and site support and will continue to lead to a better understanding of best practices of sites in working with diverse populations.
“Moving the needle in diversity enrollment is critical to future site sustainability and efficient patient care. Including diverse patients in research better reflects the breadth of patients who will be using the drug once it is approved,” said Diana Foster, SCRS Vice President of Special Projects and Diversity Awareness Project Lead. “We are eager to share knowledge and solutions to aide sites in more successfully including diverse patients in clinical trials around the world.”
“SCRS is honored to create an innovative and solution-driven program to address the critically important industry-wide need of diversity in clinical research,” said Allyson Small, SCRS Chief Operating Officer. “We are confident that this Summit will be a pivotal opportunity to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of diverse recruitment practices for clinical research sites.”
Registration for the 2022 Diversity Site Solutions Summit opens soon. The 2022 Global Oncology Site Solutions Summit will be held the following two days, May 21-22, 2022, at the Hilton Austin.
