FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ellicott City, MD, September 6, 2017 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), in collaboration with Medidata (NASDAQ: MDSO), released a new white paper, Site Budget Development and Payment Systems: A Call for Transparency from Clinical Research Sites. The survey found 93% of sites rank financial transparency as a top system need. A complimentary copy of the white paper is available here.
The white paper reports the results of the survey on site needs in areas of payment terms, access to financial information, invoicing practices, budget negotiation and ease of use of technology systems to aid in these requests. Meeting these site needs builds a solid foundation of transparency that increases the efficiency of clinical trials.
“Sites expressed a clear desire for more ‘real-time’ transparent access to financial information,” said Christine Pierre, president of SCRS. “Regardless of the type of site or the number of years of experience, sites see the value in CROs and sponsors using systems that provide this level of information.”
“The success of global clinical trials today relies on efficiency, from the research phase to site payments, but achieving that end-to-end goal can be challenging,” said April Mulroney, managing director of payments at Medidata. “This paper demonstrates that sites value the effort that goes into meeting this goal.”
