By joining and using SCRS’ e-mail lists, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules and guidelines set for these peer discussion groups. You also agree to reserve list discussions for messages relating to the online community topic. General questions concerning SCRS should be posted to your appropriate online community. myscrslist@SCRS.org is dedicated for research staff, and myscrscommunity@SCRS.org is dedicated for Investigators, Directors, Owners, and Site Managers.
As with any community, there are guidelines governing behavior on the online community. For instance, violating antitrust regulations, libeling others, selling, and marketing are not permissible. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines.
SCRS reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership on all lists for members who violate these rules.
- The discussions on the lists are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. Do not challenge or attack others. Let others have their say, just as you may and do not dominate the discussions.
- Do not contact people directly with products and services that you believe would help them. Do not post commercial messages.
- Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the lists is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
- All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything in an online community message that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
- SCRS and other e-mail list participants have the right to reproduce postings to this online community provided the authors of such postings are not identified.
- You may send your message to only the most appropriate list(s). Messages may not be forwarded to individuals not included in the online community, and nonparticipants may not be copied on any online community messages.

Only site-specific email addresses (such as YourName@SiteName.com) will be permitted to access the online community. You agree that SCRS will not be responsible to you for any indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages or losses you may incur in connection with our Listserv or any of the data or other materials transmitted through or residing in our online community, even if SCRS has been advised of the possibility of such damage or loss. In addition, you agree to defend and indemnify SCRS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents and hold SCRS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from and against any and all claims, proceedings damages, injuries, liabilities losses, costs and expenses (including attorney’s fees) relating to any acts or omissions by you or materials or information transmitted by you in connection with our online community leading wholly or partially to claims against SCRS, its officers, directors, employees, or agents or our online community by other users or third parties.
SCRS may actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings but does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to SCRS’ attention, SCRS will take all appropriate action.
SCRS reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
You agree that the law of the State of Maryland in the United States of America will apply to all matters relating to this Agreement and to our online community. In addition, you agree and consent that, if there is ever any legal action against SCRS, the state and federal courts of Maryland, USA, will have exclusive jurisdiction and be the exclusive venue for any such legal actions.
This agreement is the entire understanding between you and SCRS regarding your relationship to our online community. If either you or we fail to notify the other of any violations of this agreement, this will not mean that you or we cannot notify the other of future violations of any part of this agreement.
