Society for Clinical Research Sites Announces SPRIA Asia-Pac Winner

Ellicott City, MD, July 18, 2019 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced to attendees at the 2019 Asia-Pac Site Solutions Summit that Royal Adelaide Hospital is the winner of the Asia-Pac Site Patient Recruitment Innovation Award (SPRIA Asia-Pac).

SPRIA Asia-Pac recognized a research site that has developed and implemented an innovative patient recruitment program. This year, three finalists were chosen by an independent judging panel: Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation; The Macquarie University Clinical Trials Unit, and; Respiratory Clinical Trials Unit, Royal Adelaide Hospital. After the finalists presented their plans at the Asia-Pac Site Solutions Summit, the winner was chosen by a panel of judges. In assessing the plans, the judges looked for innovative patient-directed initiatives that were unique, effective and take into account the campaign response.

Jenny McGrath, representing Royal Adelaide Hospital, won the 2019 SPRIA Asia-Pac for utilizing a social media campaign to boost recruitment and improve relationships with patients.

“We were inspired to hear the SPRIA Asia-Pac finalists present on their recruitment successes at the Asia-Pac Site Solutions Summit,” said SCRS president Casey Orvin. “We thank all of the sites who submitted proposals for consideration. Congratulations to Royal Adelaide Hospital for winning the second-ever awarded Site Patient Recruitment Innovation Award in the Asia-Pac region!”
