FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Society for Clinical Research Sites Welcomes New Global Impact Partner

The Society for Clinical Research Sites welcomes Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., Whitehouse Station, NJ, USA as its newest Global Impact Partner

Ellicott City, M.D., October 6, 2014 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the first and only global trade organization fully dedicated to representing the interests of clinical research sites, today announced Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.’s participation as a Global Impact Partner (GIP), the highest level of membership within SCRS, for the next two years. The initiation of this new membership emphasizes Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.’s continued focus on and commitment to initiating and maintaining a positive relationship with clinical research sites.

“SCRS is proud to work with Merck,” affirmed SCRS President, Christine Pierre. “This commitment by Merck is indicative of their eagerness to strengthen their site relationships, and develop a thorough understanding of the sites’ perspective. Collaboration with this leading organization is a critical strategic development for SCRS. It is a relationship that will further catalyze important dialogue between sites and industry.”

“Merck is committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clinical investigational sites. We aspire to be a research Partner of Choice with the investigator community. SCRS provides a collective voice of the site so we can find pathways that are efficient and productive for both parties. Sites are both our customers and collaborators, and it is only through these collaborations that we can bring medicines to the patients who need them,” states Dave Detoro, AVP Clinical Operations, Americas, Merck, Whitehouse Station, NJ, USA.

As a Global Impact Partner (GIP), Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. will participate on the SCRS Global Impact Board at an executive level, and work closely with SCRS’ Leadership Council to determine strategic initiatives for SCRS.
