FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ellicott City, MD, February 8, 2018 – On January 23, 2018, the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) hosted an SCRS Symposium for clinical research sites in Budapest, Hungary, in connection with its Ambassador Program. Through a two-year scholarship supported by Acurian, the country sponsor, this symposium brought SCRS member benefits of advocacy, education, mentorship and connection to clinical research sites in the region. The event provided an opportunity for Hungarian sites to connect and discuss clinical research best practices with other sites and representatives of industry stakeholders. Acurian is the leading full-service provider of global patient enrollment and retention solutions and is a subsidiary of Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD).
Zsolt Ember, Acurian’s global enrollment manager, spoke on recruitment challenges in Hungary. Other topics presented by various industry leaders addressed regional site trends, recruitment, quality red flags and how to become the site of choice.
“Acurian has grown its patient recruitment capabilities and staffing in Hungary in support of a variety of study indications,” said Todd Albin, senior director of global site relations at Acurian. “We are committed to the long-term success and sustainability of Hungarian research sites.”
“The aim of the Ambassador Program is to strengthen the resources available to clinical research sites in various countries,” said Christine Pierre, president of SCRS. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to partner with Acurian and bolster the Hungarian research site community.”
SCRS’ next Acurian-sponsored Ambassador Symposium will be held May 25 in Warsaw, Poland.
