FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ellicott City, MD, November 29, 2018 – On November 28, 2018, PCT Europe announced to its attendees that the Society for Clinical Research Sites’ late founder, Christine Pierre, was awarded the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The PCT Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes pioneers who have revolutionized the clinical trial space. Previous winners include ACRES’ Dr. Greg Koski, Lilly’s Jean Edwards, and Tufts University School of Medicine’s Professor Ken Getz.
Christine Pierre dedicated more than 30 years of her life to strengthening and transforming the clinical research site community. She launched RxTrials, one of the nation’s first site management organizations, in 1994, and the Society for Clinical Research Sites in 2012 in response to the growing need for an organization representing the voice of the global site community.
“SCRS is appreciative of PCT Europe’s recognition of Christine’s incredible work to support clinical research sites,” said SCRS’ VP and general counsel, Russell Kemmerle, who accepted the award on Christine’s behalf with her husband Michael Pierre. “We are honored to see her positioned among the ranks of previous award recipients.”
To further honor her work and life, in 2019 the award will be renamed The Pierre PCT Lifetime Achievement Award.
Christine Pierre passed away October 23, 2018 from ocular melanoma with metastasis to the liver.
