October 19, 2023

October 19, 2023 – The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) is proud to announce Fabian Sandoval, MD, as the recipient of the 2023 Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award.

With more than 25 years of bench-to-bedside research experience, Dr. Sandoval is the President and CEO of Emerson Clinical Research Institute and host of the television show, Tu Salud Tu Familia. The show aims to increase awareness of clinical research in Hispanic communities, reaching more than 2.5 million viewers in the United States, and has won four Emmy Awards as best Health Medical Long Form Content. Dr. Sandoval has also been actively involved with SCRS as a member of its Leadership Council, Global Site Solutions Summit committee, and Diversity Awareness Program for many years.

“The namesake of this award, my friend and mentor Christine, left a legacy that encourages and motivates all of us to support one another,” said Dr. Sandoval. “This support is also extended to our patients, and as such, I continue to devote my life and career to the same mission. This recognition is a physical representation of the hard work my team and I do daily to educate and emphasize the importance of diversity in clinical trials.”

Allyson Small, SCRS Chief Operating Officer, added, “As a long-standing champion for SCRS, Dr. Fabian Sandoval has served as an influential voice for clinical research sites and underrepresented communities. His commitment to build trust and health equity among diverse populations has fostered a movement of education and advocacy that is nothing short of remarkable. As a true leader and global ambassador for patients and sites, we are honored to recognize Fabian for inspiring a brighter, more equitable future for us all.”

The Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award recognizes an industry leader who has made an extraordinary contribution to furthering the voice of the clinical research site community.
